About Us

Hi, my name is Henry.  I am your Celebrant & Host at Auckland’s Bali Bach.

My wife Theresa & I, had a beautiful destination wedding in Semenyak Bali in 2018.  For legal reasons, we found out that we needed to get married officially in NZ before heading to Bali.  After a lot of searching, we were finally lucky enough to find a local celebrant who would agree to legally marry us on our deck at home, vs doing the paperwork at the registry office.  With my gorgeous dog Skipper as the ring bearer, and a small handful of witnesses on hand, we officially got married at home & it was a really special day full of love.  

After returning from our wedding in Bali, we often reminisced about both our local & destination weddings.  

As a natural entertainer, I started thinking about how other couples could privately enjoy the same experience we had, by sharing our beautiful backyard with them.  And so Bali Bach was born.   

I have since proudly been appointed as an Independent Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant.  I consider it my absolute privilege and honour to help join other couples together in their celebration of love, within either marriage or a civil union.

Whilst I have made my home in NZ, I was originally born in South Africa, leaving there some 30 years ago.  I am fluent in both English & Afrikaans and would happily marry you in either language.   

I am passionate, well spoken, professional, & committed to providing great personal experiences. Every union is special.  I believe I will be able to help you create memorable experiences to remember a lifetime together.
